The way the web works is ever changing. Historically, I worked at an agency which sold and still is selling, SEO services and I continuously came across clients who asked to rank for specific keywords. The wish to do so is fair enough. Achieving this organically, is an almost impossible task, as this great article “Why I stopped selling SEO services” by Ryan Stewart from MOZ explains.
Ryan suggests the cessation of paid SEO services. I beg to differ slightly. SEO services are and will be professional services as long as search engines exists. Furthermore websites need to be up to scratch from a technical point of view to even have a chance to rank in search engines. The traditional way of defining SEO services in terms of optimising a website for specific keyword targets to appear on the first page of Google however is dead.
